House rule

Scratch at the door

One inbox, read by the household that keeps these pages: [email protected]. No ticket numbers, no chatbot maze, no 'your message is important to us' — a person reads it, usually the same day, always within two business days.

Answered fastest

Anything that makes a card here wrong for the next reader jumps the queue: a price that drifted from its listing, a link on the wrong tool, a packaging photo the maker has refreshed, or — top priority — a listing that smells like a counterfeit. Accessibility snags come next, and 'access' anywhere in the subject line moves them to the front.

Slower but genuinely welcome: fabric stories for the fur notes, tool stationing setups that work in your house, and arguments that a sentence here could be plainer. The best mail ends up improving a page.

The two doors that stay shut

Amazon orders — refunds, tracking, missing parcels — live in Your Orders on Amazon, where staff can see your parcel and act; forwarding the email here only adds a day. And animal health is a clinic's door, not ours: a pet shedding in strange patterns, scratching raw, or losing coat in clumps needs a veterinarian before it needs a cleaning tool.

For paper mail, the slow door works too: 88 Windrow Lane, Suite 3, Asheville, NC 28801.
